I'm very aware of how advanced you guys are on the ultimate server and, I'm thinking that it is time for some community builds.

Maybe, it's time to spruce up the spawn area or, the nexus. Or, I've made a centralized power area on the server for people to use. It's whatever you guys wanna do.

I'm looking for ideas and for someone to head this up and lead everyone in getting some big projects done. So reply here and give me some ideas and, if you're interested in heading up a community project send me a message.

I'm happy you said that Tubzy! At the moment, I am working on the bunker project that I started a while back. The main goal of the project is to create an area that newcomers can visit and possibly live in for an amount of time to allow them to get adapted to life on the server. As of yesterday, I began construction on an elevator that goes from spawn down into the bunker. I am still trying to figure out a program for it but i hope to have it up and running soon! While the bunker is fairly new, it already had a BC area, a rubber tree farm, and one bunk room (for four), plus a few giant mines and the rest of the abandoned mine shaft.

At the moment, it is mostly me working on it, though many people on the server, such as Kim and Hopster, have helped me build it.

While the ultimate server seems to be going down, I still think the idea of a community project is a great idea. Since on every server we end up with the dilemma of "everyone wants to do everything and it stresses out the server", I think working together would be a nice change of pace. I know there aren't too many people on the rpg server at the moment, but I think a community project would be a really great idea.

one idea could be a village. Not a "lets all build our houses in the same area" sort of thing, but an actual village like you'd find in an rpg styled game....complete with a mill, shops, an inn, etc etc. We've already kinda sorta got one going as is with all the homes, but I think giving it more of an rpg-like touch would be really interesting. A Grocer, Inn, Armory, and Library would all be great additions to the area we're living in right now.

A nice big thaum center would be a great idea too. With all the unique blocks that exist in this modpack, we have the luxury of getting as creative as we want. We all live too close together for things like "his aura" vs "her aura" to be a factor. If one of us does thaum, it's affecting all of us. As with every other idea here, you obviously don't have to pool all the resources you worked hard to get if you don't want to, but having a thaum center to sort of match our portal tower would be really neat.

Since everyone lives in the same area, the concept of mining can get frustrating as well, with the fear of running in to each others mines, or worrying about resources. Setting up a "public mine" at a location a little farther away might be a good idea too. We could work together and pool our resources, only taking what we need in the process, and give it an old midwestern design, complete with rail tracks. it would not only prevent the almost always inevitable conflict of "oops, I found their mine, now what", but would also match the concept of an "abandoned mineshaft" pretty nicely. Unconvinced? think "the damage is already done, why bother"? the already made tunnels can be connected intentionally, and we can make our own intricate sewage system. Yes, eww, but every city has one, right? plus the concept of hunting down monsters in the sewers is much more appealing than "oh my god how can i mine what if something spawns and I lose my stuff"

Food is always easy enough to get, and the concept of everyone having their own farm seems a bit extreme. After the very early stages of the game, each person ends up with space set aside just for farming, where they end up with chest after chest of food they'll never touch. Following the mine idea, we could have a spot outside of town set aside specifically for farmland. This would not only free up space in town for other projects, but the idea of having a large farm not automated by golems would give people something to do if/when they run out of ideas. we all have plenty of food and seeds, so we could make some amazing fields, there's plenty of livestock in the area that could be placed in "pastures" rather than tiny, cramped holes where they free-feed til we lag out, there could be orchards for different types of trees, and bees could be set up amongst trees to create some beautiful tree-breeding groves.

If you'd like to think bigger, we always end up with tons of resources we never touch....most specifically an abundance of wood and cobble. instead of having to try and upgrade barrels to make room for resources we'll never touch, we can put those to use. Roads, pathways, stairwells (which we kinda sorta already have), bridges, platforms, lighting. we can spruce up our town immensely, make it look like it's actually inhabited, rather than some hick town with houses randomly amongst the hills. Not big enough? Lets start a damn castle!! We always see amazing buildings on servers, but when it comes to actually playing, we never really make them, right? People will build large houses, and try to make something amazing out of what they can early on, but if we work together we can build even bigger. The resources are there, and we gather them even without really meaning to.

The sky is literally the limit here guys, we can build anything if we jump into a community project. A barracks, fishing lake, floating island, dragon's lair, dungeons, huge ships in the bays, homages to our favorite video games. The number of ideas are endless, all we gotta do is grab one and go <3

Hey Minagi, I spent a little time in creative trying to make a library for the town, but in the meantime I was wondering what your thoughts would be on a Cave Inn. I put up a sign behind the library where a nice cave is and was wondering if that would be a nice spot to have a relaxing area. People could come in from the library, read a book, eat something, or just hangout and relax.

we actually have an inn already, it's out over near Avlar's place, since that's the first place people hit when coming from spawn. That way when they land, they can make a beeline for the first building, claim a bed, and have a place to stay while they decide on their house ><
